Q: Describe your show in 5 words: Rock and Roll and Words
Q: Best thing about your show? You get to sit on a chair like rich people and drink alcohol like poor people. It has more rock music than most cabarets, and I wear jeans that are tight in the crotch.
Q: If someone were to play you in a movie - who would it be and why? Peter Dinklage. Because I don't think people realise what an excellent actor he really is.
Q: Why should people come to see your show? Because it's better than watching your face age in the mirror and I wear jeans that are tight in the crotch.
Q: Most awkward moment on stage? Once I was so aroused by the throbbing music, dull red lights and dingy environment that I tried to touch one of the adult dancers with my tongue. That was the first and only time I've seen ‘A Chorus Line’.
Q: Advice to up and coming cabaret-ers? If you are worrying about whether or not your show will be liked, you are doing it wrong. Honesty has it all over accessibility.
Q: Describe your show in 5 words? Singer, Songwriter, Piano, Waitress, Actress.
Q: Best thing about your show? I wrote the show specifically about me and my personal experiences, but people always find something in the show that they can relate to.
Q: If someone were to play you in a movie - who would it be and why? If I can choose anybody I pick Zooey Deschanel, because she's quirky and interesting and I love her voice.
Q: Why should people come to see your show? Because otherwise I have to go back to waitressing! Also, it's a fun show, very conversational and not necessarily your "typical" cabaret.
Q: Most awkward moment on stage? In Adelaide I went off the wrong side of the stage at the end of the show and couldn't get backstage. My bass player and I had to hide in that wing until all the audience left.
Q: Advice to up and coming cabaret-ers? Write the show that you would want to go and see.
Toby Francis and ‘Blokelahoma’/ Gillian Cosgriff and ‘Waitressing and other things I do well’ will be on for one night only, Friday June 24 at the Cremorne Theatre QPAC.
