ACO2 — the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s precocious little sister — has a swag of glowing reviews under their belts after their first national subscription tour for 'Mozart & Britten'.
The program promises a rollercoaster of emotion, from the South American-style tango of Roger Smalley’s ‘Birthday Tango’ to the haunting and evocative sounds of Arvo Pärt’s ‘Cantus In Memoriam Of Benjamin Britten’, and the piece that launched Benjamin Britten’s international career, ‘Variations On A Theme Of Frank Bridge’, recognised as a landmark of 20th century string writing.
