In rather sad news, the family of Sparklehorse’s Mark Linkous have confirmed the musician committed suicide. The Virginia-born singer/ songwriter died March 6 from a gunshot wound. He was 47. According to the New York Times Linkous's manager, Shelby Meade, explained Linkous shot himself in the heart in an alley near a friend’s home in Knoxville, Tennessee.

With a debut album (‘Innerspeaker’) a mere two months from release, Western Australian residents Tame Impala will pack the Tarago for a run of live dates in May. Catch one of the country’s hottest products when Tame Impala play the Surfers Paradise Beer Garden May 13 and the Tivoli May 14.

In a recent interview in Rolling Stone, Keith Richards has hinted The Rolling Stones could hit the studio later this year. "There's no definite plans, but I can't see any of them [band members] stopping," he explained. "I wouldn't be surprised if we did some recording later this year." The Rolling Stones are set to re-issue their 1972 album, 'Exile On Main Street', with ten previously unreleased tracks on May 17.

Another legendary act from the 60s, Jimi Hendrix, has released a new album of previously un-released material. The authorised Hendrix Family edition of ‘Valleys Of Neptune’, featuring the song of the same name (one of the most sought after of all Hendrix’s commercially unavailable recordings) also contains unheard studio versions of ‘Bleeding Heart’ and ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’.
