BLUTONIUM BOY [17:06:08]
HARDSTYLE ARREST

Whether under his Blutonium Boy alias or his DJ Session One moniker, the German DJ/producer has been honing his craft for 20 years. Now with two new albums ready to drop, the master of hard dance is returning to Brisbane for the Transmission event. You have been warned.

You've been spinning tunes for 20 years now ... how have you managed to keep both your sets fresh and yourself enthusiastic about the music?
I really enjoy what I’m doing. When you're interested in music like myself, there is no difficulty managing to keep my sets fresh! Sometimes I feel the strain of travelling, especially the flying, but when I am back on the ground, I am happy to be there.
Where do you think hard dance is headed at the moment?
I think hardstyle has had the biggest development under the techno banner, because I have never seen so many people around the globe dancing and listening to the one club sound like hardstyle. So many DJs have changed to be hardstyle DJs and there are so many huge events happening everywhere, packed with thousands of people!
You've travelled all over the world DJing - what's been the strangest experience you've had performing?
You really want know that? Ok listen. I went to play at a festival close to a desert near San Diego. I had 45,000 people in front of me. But after starting my set, a police officer came on stage and arrested me and switched off the music. I asked him why, and he told me that the Indian chief of the reservation had died and I had made music during that time. For me that was really strange, so the whole event was cancelled and I had to spend my wonderful night in prison, till the next morning! I was told I was arrested for disrespecting the Indian chief. Apparently he died during my set. I couldn't believe that.
You're headed to Australia for the Transmission show - bringing an arsenal of hard dance to blow up the dancefloor?
Of course buddy, believe me the crowd will never forget the performance of Blutonium Boy in 2008 at Transmission. I only say - Hardstyle Superstar back in the place, I place my sound direct in your face!
